Baked Egg-in-a-Hole

These bacon-and-egg toasts make for a fun breakfast! Great for kids!


Yield: [4 servings]

Ingredients:

Eggs | 4 eggs

Bacon lardons | cooked

Thick sliced bread | 4 slices

Spring onions | 2 - chopped

Chilli flakes | ½ tsp

Oil spray

Butter

Salt

Black pepper

Round cookie cutter or a glass


Directions:

Preheat the oven at 200°c/gas mark 6. Grease a baking tray with oil spray/butter. Using a round cookie cutter or a glass, make a hole in the centre of each bread slice. Butter one side of each bread slice and place on to the baking tray buttered side down. Gently crack one egg into each hole and season with salt. Bake the bread slices for roughly 10 - 15 minutes or until the egg whites are set.


Sprinkle the eggs with black pepper and garnish with the cooked bacon lardons, chopped spring onions and chilli flakes. Serve immediately and enjoy!
